Export And Import Of Animals As Baggage

Each country has its own set of regulations on the export and import of animals. Export regulations of the origin country, import regulations of the destination and regulations of countries through which the pet will transit or transfer should be followed. These regulations may vary widely, such as:

  • Total prohibition on export, import or transshipment of animals as baggage
  • Clearances from government authorities (Import/export permits)
  • General certificate of health from a veterinary surgeon
  • Certificates of vaccination against specific diseases (e.g., anti-rabies)
  • Restrictions on the export or import of certain animals (protected species)
  • Quarantine requirements and arrangements
  • Requirements of carriage in special containers

Where carriage is not subject to the liability rules of the Convention, Jazeera Airways is not responsible for injury to or loss, sickness or death of an animal which we have agreed to carry unless we have been negligent.

Full liability of passengers is assumed regarding compliance to health, safety, animal management, and all conditions and permits mandated by governments, regulations, entry and exit permits, and health certificates of countries plus restrictions of states, regions or relevant authorities. Requests for traveling with pets may be rejected at airport even if the related reservation is confirmed.

In cases of a passenger with an allergy statement and a passenger with a pet request travelling on the same flight, the request of the passenger who made the first reservation will be confirmed.
