Travel to Riyadh

Discover Riyadh

The political, financial and administrative capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, has grown from a small walled town of 20,000 people to a vast, sprawling metropolis that buzzes with activity and is rich in museums and historical sights. Set on a desert plateau in the country’s centre, Riyadh’s combination of deeply rooted Saudi traditions and modern skyscrapers makes it a fascinating place to visit, where traditional and modern sit side by side.

Riyadh is primarily the country's business destination, but if you're here to see the sites then there are a few hidden gems to look out for. The city is home to some excellent museums that chart the history and culture of the region, and the truly magnificent Masmak Fortress is a must-see while you're here. Head there in the evening when the floodlights make the fortress even more dramatic and imposing.
